Privacy Notice

For anything about your data, including using any of your rights below, email support@buildanedge.app.

Your account. Your email address and name, and your sign-in details (password or the account you sign in with). These are held by our sign-in provider, Clerk, which also records technical details such as your IP address and device to keep accounts secure. We record the date you confirmed you are 18 or over.

Your subscription. Your trial and subscription status and dates, and the reference numbers Stripe gives your customer record and subscription. Your card details are entered directly with Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

Telegram. If you link Telegram, we store your Telegram chat ID so we can send you alerts there.

What you create and receive. Your Alert Rules; your alert history, including the match statistics at the moment each alert fired; records of each attempt to deliver an alert (which channel was used and whether it succeeded); your team notes, favourite teams and leagues, and watch list; and any feature ideas or bug reports you submit and ideas you vote for. When you submit a feature idea, your first name is shown next to it to other BuildAnEdge users.

Bug reports. When you report a bug, we also record the page you were on, the version of the app, and your browser and device type, so we can reproduce the problem. Only we can see these details, not other users.

Early Adopter programme. If you join, we record when you became an Early Adopter and when we reviewed your account for the programme's discount.

Support records. If we change your account at your request, for example extending a trial, we record what changed, when, and why.

Technical logs. Our servers log requests and errors, including your internal user ID, to keep the service running and secure. Cloudflare and Vercel, which sit in front of our website and servers, process your IP address to deliver pages and block attacks.

We do not collect your betting accounts, bets or gambling history, your precise location, or any special category data (such as health information).

• To provide the service you signed up for (your account, Alert Rules, monitoring live matches against them, and sending you alerts and account emails). Lawful basis: contract.
• To take payments and manage your subscription. Lawful basis: contract, and legal obligation for keeping financial records.
• To check you are 18 or over. BuildAnEdge is for adults only. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (keeping a gambling-related service away from children).
• To keep the service secure and reliable, and to handle support requests (for example, investigating why an alert didn't arrive). Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
• To understand which features are used and improve them, using information about how the service is used in aggregate. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.

We do not send marketing emails. If that changes, we'll ask for your consent first. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Alerts are triggered automatically by the conditions you set. We don't make any automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.

We use the following service providers to run BuildAnEdge. They process personal data on our behalf, only for the purposes above, under contracts that require them to protect it.

Telegram. If you choose to receive alerts on Telegram, the alert messages are delivered through Telegram and handled under Telegram's own privacy policy.

Live football data comes from a sports data provider. We don't send them any of your personal data.

We may also share data if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

Some of our providers are based in, or use, the USA and other countries outside the UK. Where your data is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by UK adequacy regulations (including the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, where the provider is certified) or by the UK's approved contract terms (the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses).

• Your account and everything in it (rules, alert history, notes and so on): for as long as your account exists. If your trial ends or you stop subscribing, your account is paused rather than deleted, so you can pick up where you left off. Ask us at any time and we'll delete it.
• Technical logs: up to 90 days.
• Payment records: Stripe keeps these for as long as the law requires (for example, for tax purposes), even after your account is deleted.

You have the right to:

• get a copy of your personal data (access);
• have inaccurate data corrected;
• have your data deleted;
• restrict, or object to, how we use it;
• receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format.

To use any of these, email support@buildanedge.app from the email address on your account (so we can confirm it's you). It's free, and we'll respond within one month. You can correct most of your data yourself in the app, and change your email or name in your account's profile settings.

We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. We only use:

• Sign-in cookies set by Clerk, which are strictly necessary to keep you signed in.
• A special-offer cookie (bae_offer, lasting 30 days), set only if you arrive through a link containing an offer code, so the offer is applied when you sign up.
• Browser storage for your preferences: light or dark theme, your fixtures filters, and whether you've dismissed the offer banner. This stays in your browser.

BuildAnEdge is only for people aged 18 or over. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we find out we have, we'll delete it.

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), and our main database is encrypted at rest. Access to personal data is limited to authorised administrators, and only for running the service and handling support.

If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first at support@buildanedge.app and we'll try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

We'll update this notice when what we do with your data changes, and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you by email or in the app.
